Brock Duke Offers Criminal Defense Experience, Skill and Knowledge
Brock Duke graduated from Oklahoma State University with a Bachelors Degree in Economics (1998) with an emphasis in Law and a Masters Degree in Economics (2000). In 2003 he graduated from the University of Oklahoma School of Law.
Criminal Law Experience
Brock Duke’s focus is criminal law. He began his career as an Assistant Criminal District Attorney prosecuting all types of crimes in the state of Texas. This started at the Van Zandt Criminal District Attorney’s Office in Canton, Texas. For nearly two (2) years he served the citizens of Van Zandt County locking up criminals with charges ranging from DWI, Drugs, Rape, Robbery, and Murder. During this time, he experienced high levels of success as a trial attorney and was promoted to First Assistant within the office.
Gaining Valuable Criminal Trial Knowledge
Brock Duke’s success and rapid ascent up the chain of command landed him a job at the Collin County Criminal District Attorney’s Office in McKinney. It didn’t take long for his skills to be noticed, and he was promoted to Court Chief where his focus was training new prosecutors in criminal trial work. This experience allowed his skills to rapidly progress as he personally oversaw and managed the prosecution of hundreds of criminal cases.
The Collin County District Attorney’s Office was not the only prosecution office impressed by Brock Duke. He was offered a job at the most respected Criminal District Attorney’s Office in the state of Texas. He took his experience and skills to the Tarrant County Criminal District Attorney’s Office in Fort Worth. This opportunity allowed him to work under and learn from some of the nation’s leading criminal prosecutors.
Brock Duke spent over six years as a prosecutor working to put criminals in Texas prisons. He attended multiple trial skills seminars and schools put on by the Texas District and County Attorney’s Association, some of which are available only to prosecutors. They included but are not limited to the Texas Homicide Symposium, TDCAA Trial Skills Seminar, TDCAA Advanced Trial Skills Seminar and countless hours of criminal trial and investigation courses. In addition, he personally trained prosecutors and police officers on how to testify in criminal jury trials. But the true measure of his ability does not come from schools or seminars. It comes from the thousands of hours spent in courtrooms before juries, conducting trials.
Criminal Defense Attorney Expertise Working for Clients
In early 2010, Brock Duke left the Criminal District Attorney’s Office and opened The Law Office of Brock Duke.
The experience, knowledge, skills and education gained as a criminal prosecutor is what separates Brock Duke from other Criminal Defense Attorneys.
Experience and exposure to various criminal situations has afforded Brock the resource of knowing the difference between the practices of law in rural east Texas, conservative north Dallas and Collin County, and the big cities of Fort Worth and Dallas. As a criminal prosecutor, Brock Duke’s time was focused day in and day out on criminal trial preparation, planning and strategy. This is an advantage that other Criminal Defense Lawyers do not possess. It cannot be bought, but only gained through experience.
If arrested, The Law Office of Brock Duke offers skilled Criminal Defense services unavailable through most other Criminal Defense Lawyer Offices. As a criminal prosecutor Brock Duke has obtained advanced training in:
- Cross-examination of expert witnesses
- Cross-examination of DNA test experts
- Cross-examination of fingerprint test experts
- Crime scene investigative procedures
- Crime scene testing procedures
- Criminal interrogation techniques
These are just a few of the many advantages that The Law Office of Brock Duke brings to clients charged with a criminal offense. There is no better advantage than inside knowledge of prosecution techniques. This allows clients charged with a criminal offense to know what the enemy is going to do.
The Law Office of Brock Duke will first look at a criminal case from the perspective of a criminal prosecutor. After evaluating all the strengths and weakness of the case, Brock Duke will take it apart piece by piece.
But, the criminal defense process does not end there. The Criminal District Attorney’s Office will have pictures and video from the criminal investigation. Our team will do our own independent criminal investigation. Part of this will consist of visiting the alleged crime scene and creating our own video and photo images. This independent criminal investigation is crucial in showing your side of the story, not just a police officer’s version.
Brock Duke knows the way a successful criminal prosecutor prepares a criminal trial. He also understands the impact a criminal conviction can have on someone’s future. Most importantly, he knows the various factors that can cause even the most talented criminal prosecutors to “lose” a jury trial. A very small percentage of all criminal defense lawyers in Texas bring an advantage this large to the table.
If you are charged with a crime, do you want your future in the hands of just any Criminal Defense Attorney? Or would you rather hire someone with the knowledge, skills and background who knows firsthand how the game is played and won?
