If arrested for burglary in Texas, you will need a competent and experienced criminal defense lawyer. Burglary is a felony offense in Texas. This crime involves unlawfully entering or remaining in a building or dwelling with the intention of committing a felony offense, theft or assault. A person's home is considered a sacred place and burglars are punished accordingly. Even if the intended crime was not carried out, a defendant may still face burglary charges. According to the law, "entering" in the case of burglary may include any part of the body or any physical object connected with the body. A flashlight breaking through a window, for example, may constitute entering a property.
